Keyes, Jr. won this medal in 1891, given by the son of the noted naval inventor Admiral John Adolphus Bernard Dahlgren, and his wife, the celebrated writer Sarah Madeleine Vinton Dahlgren. Keyes was the first winner of this prize at Georgetown.
